Grace Ping, a senior at Desert Vista High in Arizona, won the girls open Division 1 and 2 race in her season debut at the second Phoenix Classic at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. Ping, an Oklahoma State commit, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 19:31.9 to lead five Desert Vista athletes in the top 25. Ping would have been the No. 4 scorer for the Desert Vista varsity lineup and placed in the top 12 in that competition.
