Xander Black, a senior at Brophy Prep in Arizona, won the boys varsity Division 1 and 2 race at the second Phoenix Classic at Crossroads Park in Gilbert. Black covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:37.5, the fastest time from all races combined, to lead five Brophy Prep scorers in the top 30 to prevail against defending Arizona Division 1 state champion Highland by a 57-63 margin.
